We take our concrete work extremely serious and have the experience to tackle large public works projects as well as high end designed structural concrete homes and retaining walls.

  • Demolition of any flat work concrete or ashphalt, structures, footings, foundations and fire clean up

  • Over-excavation and recompaction for any new construction or expansion (residential or commerical).  We will work as a team with soils engineers to achieve optimum moisture content and soils compaction requirements.

  • Trenching and installation of underground utilities - water, sewer, gas, and electrical services.

  • With the heavy floods and rains in Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast, surface drainage along with subterranean storm drains are imperative to the safety and preservation of your property.

Founded in 2007 by Santa Barbara native and avid waterman, Chad Cushman - Coastal Ex started with a vision as expansive and clear as the California coastline. With certifications in crane operations, heavy equipment and basic surveying, Cushman is a highly licensed, bonded and insured contractor for both public and private works and is a member of the Santa Barbara Contractors Association. Just as the coast is a dynamic meeting point of land and sea, Cushman saw an opportunity to bridge creativity and stability in the construction industry. Cushman’s strong compass, guided by a commitment to quality, reflects his unwavering dedication to excellence amidst ever-changing conditions. Each project under his direction embodies his commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and innovative thinking and problem solving in a dynamic industry.
